Pre-Interview Letter

Dear Applicant:

Thank you for your interest concerning possible employment at our company. Here are some details about working here that you need to know prior to an interview. If you think any of these will prevent you from working with us, please call and discuss them. We do not want to waste your time.

Qualifications and information:

a. We are a smoke-free campus and hire non-smokers only. The non-smoking requirement applies to the use of tobacco and/or nicotine in the form of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vapor cigarettes, chew tobacco, snuff or any in form whatsoever. Employees are subject to pre- and post-hire screenings for tobacco and/or nicotine. Such screening may take place at pre-hire, randomly, or based on reasonable suspicion.
b. Due to safety reasons and respirator requirements, you must not have any facial hair other than a well-groomed mustache.
c. Since our employees have direct contact with customers, we expect our employees to be well-groomed and to maintain a professional appearance. In keeping with professional appearance, offensive and/or excessive tattoos or other body art must not be visible during work time. Similarly, employees must refrain from the wearing unusual and excessive body piercings. e. If a job offer is extended, candidates must successfully pass a physical agility test, which includes a lifting requirement of 50-75 lbs.
d. You must possess a valid driver's license from the state where your home address is located.
e. You must be a high school graduate, or equivalent (i.e., GED).
f. If you come to work here, you must have a cell phone that receives texts at all time. If you don’t currently have a smart phone, one can be provided through your employment through a payroll deduction program; and you will be responsible for any damage or loss of the phone.
g. Based on what you see in the position description, we will want you to tell us of your ability to perform the job-related functions. If you feel that some accommodation may be necessary, we will expect you to communicate what you would need in order to be able to perform the job-related functions that we are proposing.
h. You must be able to work any day of the week, plus up to 8 hours on Saturdays or Sundays if the position and route conditions make that necessary. All field employees are put into an on-call rotation and may be required to work up to two Saturdays per quarter. If you are unable to meet the scheduling requirements, please let us know during the hiring process.

If this interview is a success for both you and us, and if we agree to proceed to the next level of the process, you will be tested and reports will be obtained in a variety of ways.

Examples of tests and reports may include:

a. Tests of certain skills
b. Drug screen / other controlled substances screen
c. Criminal background check
d. Motor vehicle record check
e. References will be called
f. Previous employers will be called
